noghettos.org launches first stage web presence

Australia: We started shooting the 'In the Ghetto' video clip on the 4th July 2009. It was a day long shoot in a green screen studio using the RED camera, with a cast and crew of over 50 people. Everyone donated their time and energy to the cause.
We would like to thank all those who attended - too many to mention here, but we will be listing all names on the noghettos.org site. We look forward to staying in touch with everyone as we embark on this journey to improve the lives of those living in such poor conditions around the world.
Special thanks go out to Bernie Ryan from Cyber City Films - Director, Benjamin Shirley - Director of Photography,...
The founders of noghettos.org Mick Gerace & Mark Bosci talk about how it all started & what they want to do with it.
'In the Ghetto' video clip is production now. Check back around the end of July when we hope to a have a preview of it.
To speak of a truly free world where all of us live in equality some things have to change. While that's happening we thought we'd start some things of our own.
The first thing: create an anthem for the cause and sell it to generate funding so that we can support worthy global organisations who are helping to empower those living in slums and ghettos around the world.
Although to begin with we will simply be dealing with the effect, we are acutely aware that it can never really change until the cause is no longer an issue.
The cause is the current mindset of mankind. Until there is a massive mind-shift towards achieving respect and equality amongst us all, humanity is doomed to a bleak existence.
Over the ensuing weeks noghettos.org will be launching a campaign to help build the stage for that mind-shift.

From the second my breath of life touched my mommas womb, the hood was waiting for me, waiting to take it from me, as a youngun impressed with fast cars and big jewels, chics with big boobs, to me the shit's kool, school was joke, plus we were broke, think the world's gonna change, trust me it wont, it's like I'm trapped behind a mental fence, if I try to jump higher, get caught in the barb wire

Tupac asks, does heaven have a ghetto, sorry Pac the fact is, probably not, cause most of our faith is bound to be sacrificed, no heaven, just residents in poverty's paradise.
Gotta get my paper up, I cant let it drop, gotta hustle everyday, gotta get that gap, take care of the fam, provide, reside, in the same resident stack the presidents, we're black and heaven sent, that's a testament, smarten up, wash your soul and let it rinse, I'm focused, I'm doing what them soldiers do, cause I'm a man doing what I'm supposed to do

talks about its
work in Nairobi, Kenya.
No country is immune from having poor areas. They exist, they just have different names in different parts of the world. Ghettos, slums and shanty towns to name a few...
Historically, bandaid solutions to these problem areas have provided little substance and nothing sticks, and we know this because they still exist and in greater numbers.
On our quest to doing something about it we have met some amazing and courageous people who have enlightened us with a few facts...
A ghetto can only be fixed from the ground up.
Books and candles are far more important to people living in poor conditions than money. In fact, many of those living this way have no idea of what money is.
If you live in a first world country chances are you were brought up with books and electricity. The knowledge gained from those books gave you the means to live the way you do.
If we are to help anyone living in poor conditions then it must start with education. This gives them the power to help themselves.

Anyone and everyone can donate as there are many ways to help. Its not all about money!
